The Swiss SOS is a nationwide, multicenter clinical study on patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (aSAH).

It was initialized in 2008, and has evolved to be a prospective, institutional-review-board approved continuous database, currently containing anonymous information on about 2000 patients.

The aims of the Swiss SOS are

to serve as a tool for disease monitoring in Switzerland

to measure and control the quality of aSAH treatment in Switzerland

to foster clinical research and collaboration between eight Swiss neurovascular centres

to guide the future direction of aSAH management in Switzerland
